Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles
Downtown Los Angeles, CA
The Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) is the nation’s largest local association of plaintiffs’ attorneys. They had previously adopted a second-hand office space more than 12 years ago and were set to create a new identity in 6,000sf that is representative of who they are and what they need as an organization. The design focuses around the idea of centralizing the core support elements for the whole organization while flanking the functional Offices, the Conference Room and the 2,000sf Multi-Purpose Room, around the perimeter. The central core was conceived of as a triangular shaped solid block of walnut to evoke a sense of strength and longevity. Programmatic functions were delicately carved into it allowing three main areas of interaction, critical to the function of the organization.
